Abstract
Matricide, the act of a child killing their mother, is an exceptionally rare form of homicide, often associated with severe mental disorders, particularly psychotic illnesses. This study presents a case of a 38-year-old male with paranoid schizophrenia who murdered his mother and was referred for foren-sic psychiatric evaluation. Through detailed clinical, psychodynamic, and forensic analysis, we ex-plored the psychopathological factors, including persecutory delusions, impaired judgment, and a disturbed mother-son relationship, which contributed to the crime. The case illustrates the complex interplay between psychotic symptoms, family dynamics, and violence, emphasizing the relevance of early psychiatric intervention and adherence to treatment in preventing such extreme outcomes. Im-plications for forensic assessment, clinical management, and risk prevention are discussed, highligh ting the importance of integrating psychodynamic and forensic perspectives in understanding matricide
