Burnout has been the subject of many articles and research studies in recent years. Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare providers are affected by this serious issue occurring in the workplace. Burnout has been the reason for providers leaving their practices and professions. The problem is growing due to the inability of management to provide appropriate resources and individuals not considering self-care in the work environment. This article will
provide an example case, definition of burnout; a literature review of causes, Burnout symptoms, and possible administrative and individual solutions.
